The Maeldune Heritage Centre, Maldon, Essex
We exhibited at the Maeldune Heritage Centre for one month, 8th September to 2nd
October. It is in the centre of town and although small we
managed to hang quite a lot of work. The 'Art Trail' was on at the same
time so we had a lot of people in the gallery, and when were on
stewarding duty it was nice to meet and talk to the visitors
'Maeldune Heritage Centre is the home of the 42 foot Maldon Embroidery which celebrates the 1000th anniversary of the Battle of Maldon. It was designed by Humphrey Spender to depict Maldon's history from the Battle of Maldon in 991 to its anniversary in 1991.
The Centre also houses art exhibitions, historical displays, a photographic archive and a gift shop.
