This was another excellent event, as in past years we had 3 full days of workshops, exhibitions, demonstrations and traders. We also had 2 very informative presentations by Liz Cooper from Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery, and a lecture by Isabel Hall.
The lecture was a real treat, Isabel was very generous in explaining her techniques and passing her work around the audience for us to examine in detail.
Fen Edge Textiles were in the main hall, we were exhibiting the start of our body of work for the exhibition at the Maeuldune Heritage Centre in Maldon during September and October. Our subject is 'Yesterday' and our brief was to create a 3D piece based on our chosen theme. The pieces had to be no bigger than 40cm high x 30cm wide x 30cm deep.
We were very pleased at the amount of interest shown in our work and the very complimentary comments of the people we spoke to, and it is always a pleasure to see the students interested in textiles.
Here are a few photographs of our work on the stand, they don't always do the work justice but it is just a little preview of our September exhibition.
